We are located within a stone's throw of Rochester Castle on the historic High Street. Just a few doors away from Rochester Bridge opposite the Expectations Pub.
The Star of India is located within walking distance of the many tourist attractions of Rochester, including the Cathedral, the Guildhall Museum, the Dickens Centre, Six Poor Traveller's House and Restoration House.

Car

Rochester High Street itself has parking restrictions. The nearest car parking is on the Esplanade, beside the river. There is a large car park on Corporation Street and one on Blue Boar Lane, in front of the old City Wall.

From the Esplanade, walk towards the bridge and then turn right into the High Street. We are a few doors past Gundulph Square.
From Corporation Street car park, cross the road at the pedestrian crossing. Turn into Northgate and walk past the library to the crossroads. Turn right here and proceed down the High Street past Rochester Cathedral. We are past the Bull Hotel and opposite the Expectations pub.
From Blue Boar Lane car park, go to the left end of the huge City Wall. Here you will find the High Street. Turn right into the High Street. Proceed along the High Street past the Visitors Centre, the Kings Head pub, The Cathedral and the Bull Hotel. We are situated opposite the Expectations pub.

Train

The nearest train station is Strood, which is located across the river from us. Exit the station and turn left. Then turn left at the traffic lights to come over the bridge.
Alternatively, you can alight at Rochester train station. Turn right onto the High Street and continue the full length of the High Street past the Rochester Cathedral.

Bus

There are several bus routes that stop on Corporation Street near the Guildhall Museum. From the bus stop proceed west along Corporation Street towards Rochester Bridge. When you pass the Expectations public house we are just across the road.

Coach

There is a coach park on Corporation Street where coach tours stop. From the coach park proceed west along Corporation Street towards Rochester Bridge. When you pass the Expectations public house we are just across the road.
