8 High Street, Rochester, Kent. ME1 1PT

The Star of India is a traditional Indian restaurant located in the centre of historic Rochester. Established by our patron, Mr Akhlak Ahmed, in 1999, we are ideally placed for visitors to the many tourist attractions of Rochester.

Rochester is steeped in history from the Romans to the Normans to the eighteenth century. It was also the home of Charles Dickens and the scene of many of his books. In fact, our restaurant was featured as a setting in the BBC Drama adaptation of "A Pardoner's Tale" by Dickens.

We serve a wide range of asian cuisines in addition to regular english fare. We can also prepare any special requests. Private parties can be catered for if booked in advance. We also do take away meals. Call us on 01634 844489 to order or book a table.

We are open every day of the week including bank holidays. Lunchtime opening is from noon to 2 o'clock except Fridays. Fridays we are open evening only. Evening opening is from 6 o'clock to midnight.
